SFTV Professor Glenn Gebhard’s film, Greetings from Fire Island, won the J. Stuart Blackton Award for Best Documentary at the Long Island Film Festival.
The documentary provides a snapshot of Fire Island: its ecological treasures, history of shipwrecks and hurricanes, thriving gay communities, conflict with the mainland and enduring transience as its buffeted by forces both natural and man-made.
