We all know the high-price that comes with breaking the law. In his short film Counterfeiters, alum Bryce Hirschberg ’12 shows how a gang of kids who get involved in the business of fake money confront this reality. Hirschberg, director and lead actor, and Catherine Wolf, producer and third-year production graduate student, sat down with us to discuss the inspiration behind the film and the challenges of making the 11-minute short in one continuous shot (fun fact: they ended up using the 7th take).
Counterfeiters won LMU SFTV’s 2012 Film Outside the Frame Best Picture award and was selected as part of KCET’s annual student film festival Fine Cut. As part of that series, Counterfeiters will air on KCET Open Call on February 7, 2013 at 9 p.m.
