Marymount College Alumna Reflects on a Lifetime of Giving
Marilyn Heron ’66 attended Marymount College before the 1973 merger with Loyola University. She was one of the first students at the college to study mathematics, and she went on to forge a pioneering career in the aerospace industry – including participating in the launch of the Apollo spacecraft. As a former scholarship recipient, she knows the transformative possibilities of receiving financial backing, and her lifetime of giving to the university has amounted to over $1 million, recognizing her as a member of the LMU Centennial Society. “I’m very proud of the projects that I worked on over the course of my career,” said Heron. “If I can help, even just in a small way, it can allow students to stay motivated and continue their education.”
