LOS ANGELES – The Entertainment & Media Law Institute at Loyola Law School, Los Angeles will host “Summer in the City: Entertainment & Digital Media Hot Topics Symposium” from 2-6 pm on Friday, July 31 on its downtown LA campus. The panel event features a roster of top entertainment lawyers and executives on two panels: “Both Sides Now: Litigation Developments for Talent Representatives and Transactional Lawyers: and “The Times They Are A’ Changin’: Digital Media Business and Legal Developments.” Howard Davine, executive vice president at ABC Studios, will give welcoming remarks on “The Revolution in Small-Screen Entertainment.”
The event, unique in its mid-year timing, is designed to offer guidance to lawyers and executives as they approach a new season of production. “Most of the local lawyers’ groups provide ‘year in review’ programs in fall or winter. But legal and business developments occur year-round,” said Professor F. Jay Dougherty, director of the Entertainment & Media Law Institute. “In our summer symposium, a group of top expert litigators will cover the latest developments in entertainment and media law and their impact on transactional lawyers and clients, and a group of well-informed digital media experts will give an update on the latest legal and business developments in digital media.”
Loyola Law School is located at 919 Albany St., Los Angeles, CA 90015, on Olympic Boulevard, just two blocks west of LA Live. Members of the media who wish to attend should RSVP to Brian Costello, assistant director of marketing & communications, at brian.costello@lls.edu, 213-736-1444 (o) or 310-902-9560 (c).
