LOS ANGELES — Nancy Pluzdrak, Ed.D., an accomplished executive with a globe-spanning resumé, will be Loyola Marymount University’s next vice president for Human Resources, the university announced Tuesday.
VP Pluzdrak brings to LMU more than 30 years of senior leadership experience and a proven track record of directing Human Resources operations in higher education. She served most recently in the University of California Office of the President, as executive director of Human Resources.
“VP Pluzdrak has built her career on communication and leadership, a commitment to research, and a dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion,” said Lynne Scarboro, executive vice president for administration at LMU. “She brings a wealth of experience and is an outstanding addition to LMU’s team.”
While at UCOP, VP Pluzdrak was responsible for all HR functional areas supporting the Office of the President, including the development and implementation of policies and programs to support faculty, staff, and students in a shared-governance environment.
Prior to joining UCOP, VP Pluzdrak was the executive vice president of international operations and global human resources for Daymon Worldwide, a $15 billion privately held organization with over 16,000 employees worldwide. In this role, she was responsible for global HR operations in the United States as well as international operations in South Africa, Europe, and South America.
At LMU, Pluzdrak will oversee all human resources operations, including strategic planning, policies, procedures, and programming; talent acquisition, hiring for inclusive excellence, HRIS, compensation; and payroll, Total Rewards, and benefits administration. Her charge also includes learning and development, employee relations, support services for faculty, Title IX and equal employment opportunity compliance and investigation, and employee wellness and engagement.
“I am thrilled by the opportunity to work at Loyola Marymount University and contribute to its mission of educating the whole person,” Pluzdrak said. “LMU’s forward-thinking Strategic Plan makes it uniquely positioned to succeed in the future as an innovative institution. I’m proud to be joining the team at LMU.”
VP Pluzdrak’s first day at LMU will be July 23.
