LOS ANGELES – Loyola Law School, Los Angeles will host former U.S. Solicitor General Donald B. Verrilli Jr. as its keynote speaker during its 2018 Commencement Ceremony to be held at 12 p.m. PDT on Sunday, May 20, 2018 on the campus of Loyola Marymount University (LMU).
Verrilli is a partner at Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP, where he founded the firm’s Washington, DC office. Verrilli’s practice focuses on Supreme Court and appellate litigation. Verrilli served as solicitor general of the United States from 2011 to 2016, making 37 arguments before the U.S. Supreme Court. Before serving as solicitor general, Verrilli served as deputy White House counsel and as an associate deputy attorney general at the U.S. Department of Justice.
The 2018 Commencement Ceremony will also include Loyola Law School, Los Angeles Dean Michael Waterstone, LMU President Timothy Law Snyder, Alumni Association Board of Directors Chair Brian Kabateck and other distinguished members of the Loyola Law School community. The event will be preceded by the Dean’s Breakfast, during which academic and other honors will be conferred on students and faculty.
