LOS ANGELES — Pulitzer Prize-winner John Carreyrou, whose reporting uncovered the story of deception and fraud behind Elizabeth Holmes’ multibillion biotech startup Theranos, will discuss his New York Times bestselling book, “Bad Blood,” on Thursday, March 24, at LMU Playa Vista Campus.
Carreyrou, who is also the creator of the podcast “Bad Blood: The Final Chapter,” the definitive account of Holmes’ recent trial and verdict, will be the featured speaker at LMU’s inaugural Innovation Symposium. The former Wall Street Journal reporter will join Kate Pickert, associate professor of English and journalism, and Jeffrey Thies, director of the Institute for Business Ethics and Sustainability at LMU, for a discussion about the role of ethics in business.
The symposium, “Transforming Business in the Digital Age” brings together industry and academic experts from multiple disciplines to discuss how innovations in technology, data, ethical decision making and strategies have an impact on people, planet, and profit. It is presented by the LMU College of Business Administration and LMU External Relations.
