The LMU School of Education again has a strong presence at two major educational research conferences, the American Educational Research Association annual meeting and the National Catholic Educational Association convention.
AERA 2014
The AERA annual meeting took place in Philadelphia in early April and more than 15 faculty, research associates and alumni presented original research, chaired sessions and participated in panel discussions that advanced the field of education.
President’s Professor Martha McCarthy presented with Neal Huchens of the Pennsylvania State University on “Online Speech and Expressive Conduct,” while Magaly Lavadenz chaired a session on “The Implications of the Council for Accreditation for Educator Preparation Policy Standards on Teacher Education Research, Policy and Practices.”
Dean Shane P. Martin served as a panelist for the session, “The Education Doctorate, A Degree for Our Times: Understanding Ed.D. Diversity and Commonalities Across Borders,” co-hosted by the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate and AERA SIG 168: Doctoral Education Across the Disciplines.
