Fernando Guerra, professor of political science and Chicana/o Latina/o studies and director of LMU’s Center for the Study of Los Angeles, commented on Karen Bass’ candidacy in the L.A. mayoral race, and what it means for an incumbent to potentially lose in the primary election. “The reason you don’t win the primary is because the majority of the people don’t want you.” Guerra also commented on the race on LAist’s AirTalk.
