“For many people, dating when you’re older is to fulfill that human need for emotional intimacy,” explained Janie Steckenrider, an associate professor at Loyola Marymount University who studies aging and sexuality, political gerontology, and generations and politics. “Dating can just be about the experience of enjoying another person.”
