Kara Jenelle “KJ” Wade, assistant professor of dance at LMU, was featured in the Times Union for her work with KaJe Movement Collective, which performed at the New York State DanceForce gathering. Wade’s piece “ÌYÁguration” celebrates Black women and their resilience throughout history. “I love dance as a performance art, but at the same time, these are practices that are rooted in our culture. This isn’t just a show; it’s a ceremony,” Wade said.
