
Chicago Reader: Ella Johnson, a graduate of Whitney M. Young Magnet High School now studying film at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, says, “I’ve participated in a lot of theater camps and things like that when I was younger. But I had never thought of writing a play until I was in the same class as Grant [Parris, another Whitney Young grad and YPF playwright featured in this year’s festival] and we had to write this play, and it was super cool. I loved it.”
