The publication features “Noni Olabisi: When Lightning Strikes,” the exhibition on view at LMU’s Laband Art Gallery through March 28. Karen Rapp, director and curator, said students admire Olabisi’s work for speaking the truth “from politics and critiques of the treatment of Black people in Los Angeles to her love of family, her love of when her grandson was born. Noni was completely herself and unguarded.”
