Eric Miller, professor at LMU Loyola Law School and former commissioner of the Civil Brand Commission for Jail Inspections, advocates for Men’s Central Jail to be closed. The facility, which advocates say is not up to modern standards, remains open despite the L.A. County Board of Supervisors’ vote to shut its doors over five years ago.
