The publication featured Caio Sousa, assistant professor of health and human sciences at LMU, who used mathematical modeling to predict the year and profile of the first runner to complete a sub-2-hour marathon – the fastest recorded time for that distance in human history. Sousa shared words of wisdom for marathoners of all paces: “When you’re out there, it’s just you — your fast shoes, your nutrition strategy, your accumulated training, your sleep, your habits, your lifestyle, your experience. A marathon time reflects all of that.”
