Jessica Levinson, LMU Loyola Law School professor, was quoted in Reuters regarding the U.S. Supreme Court’s consideration of a major Louisiana voting rights case. Levinson noted that “the high court appears likely to restrict the power of Section 2 of the [Voting Rights Act] in redistricting cases by limiting how much race can be used to remedy violations of that law.” Levinson was also featured on KTVU-SF (FOX) discussing the case’s implications, explaining that the decision will affect “what every other state in the nation can do,” including California’s future redistricting processes.
