Los Angeles Daily News: Before Friday’s deadline to submit the required number of voter signatures to place the issue on the ballot, Loyola Marymount University political science professor Fernando Guerra, who heads the Center for the Study of Los Angeles, predicted the effort would fail due to a lack of resources and visibility on the part of the recall’s organizers. “Things that get on the ballot – either a recall or an initiative — have a tremendous amount of financial support,” Guerra said. “It requires a lot of mobilization and/or a lot of funding. I didn’t see either one.”
