Demian Willette, associate professor of biology at LMU, was featured on NPR’s Short Wave podcast for his work on a micro forest in Ascot Hills Park, which he has planted and maintained over the past two years. The forest, which Willette describes as a “green stamp” in urban Los Angeles, occupies just 10,000 square feet but is California’s largest micro forest, designed to protect native plants and provide ecological and environmental benefits. Short Wave hosts call it “a small forest with big dreams.”
