Laurie Levenson and Jessica Levinson, professors at LMU Loyola Law School, commented on potential barriers for the defendant in the University of Idaho student murders case who seeks to withdraw his guilty plea.
“He will have an extremely difficult time withdrawing his guilty plea given that he must show ‘manifest injustice’ and he waived all his rights at the time of the guilty plea,” Levenson told Newsweek.
“It’s somewhat akin to trying to undo a contract,” Levinson explained to CBS News about attempting to withdraw a guilty plea.
