Rebecca Delfino, associate professor of law at LMU Loyola Law School, shared her perspective on the use of generative AI tools in legal professions and the potential risk of error. On the use of legal tools, such as Lexis, Delfino says, “I think people rely on these because they have been trusted based on prior beliefs, to their detriment.” Though AI hallucinations are less likely to occur in closed environments, they’re not impossible.
