Fernando Guerra, director of LMU’s Center for the Study of Los Angeles, commented on the state of the L.A. mayor’s race in the lead up to the November elections. Though Mayor Karen Bass has support from nearly every councilmember and business group, Guerra argues that DSA-LA – potentially endorsing Councilmember Nithya Raman’s candidacy – is a powerful and influential player in Los Angeles.
