The Sentinel covered the current exhibit on view at LMU’s Laband Art Gallery, “Noni Olabisi: When Lightning Strikes.” The exhibit includes over 40 of Olabisi’s artworks created from 1984 to 2022, depicting powerful personal experiences and stories of Black communities in Los Angeles. “Her work is telling the history as it needs to be told,” said Karen Rapp, director and curator.
