Laurie Levenson, professor at LMU Loyola Law School, commented on a recent appeal by the state of Alabama asking the Supreme Court to use a new congressional map that favors Republicans and contains only one majority Black district. “I’m thinking that if in Alabama, a finding that there had been intentional discrimination doesn’t hold, it’s going to be very hard to make that showing anywhere else in the country.”
