According to research, more people joined the Catholic church than left it in 2025 for the first time in years. Fr. Thomas Rausch, S.J., emeritus professor of theological studies at LMU, shared his thoughts on the pope and his influence on this matter: “to have a pope that is able to speak out so clearly on the rights of migrants today, on violence, on peace when we look at the number of wars going on around the world, that’s very important.” Elizabeth Kiralla ‘29 also shared her perspective as a young churchgoer.
