Jared Coleman, a member of the Big Pine Paiute Tribe of Owens Valley, California, and an assistant professor at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, said he was initially inspired to study computer science as an undergraduate in hopes of creating a program like Rosetta Stone for his native language, Owens Valley Paiute.
