Michael Genovese, professor of political science and president of the Global Policy Institute at LMU, explained the significance of the ruling: “What the court basically said is, you still have a lot of authority in terms of tariffs, but you need to go through Congress, you need to get Congressional approval … and so it was really a victory for Constitutionalism and a defeat for Donald Trump.”
