Vanessa Diaz, associate professor of Chicana/o and Latina/o studies at LMU, spoke with CNN about Bad Bunny’s influence in Puerto Rico following his historic 30-show residency in San Juan, bringing an estimated $200 million into the island’s economy. Diaz, who teaches a course on Bad Bunny and Puerto Rico at LMU, has co-authored a book with Petra R. Rivera-Rideau titled “P FKN R: How Bad Bunny Became the Global Voice of Puerto Rican Resistance,” to be released in 2026.
