Jessica Levinson, professor at LMU Loyola Law School, commented on President Trump’s threat to sue the Center for American Progress for defamation over a report the organization issued in July that found “no evidence that National Guard deployments have reduced violent crime.” Over the pending lawsuit, Levinson said the president is “going to have a difficult hill to climb because of the legal standard that is used by public figures in defamation cases.”
