Jessica Levinson, professor at LMU Loyola Law School, comments on standards for use of force in regard to the killing of Alex Pretti by immigration officers in Minnesota. She cites the Fourth Amendment and states that the officer would have to hold an objective belief that they or another person were at risk of death or serious bodily injury. “Lawfully possessing a gun is not grounds for being targeted by officers,” Levinson said.
