LMU professors Cecilia González-Andrieu and Thomas Rausch, S.J. were interviewed by local broadcast media outlets about the impact and influence of Pope Francis, who is hospitalized in Rome.
“Everyone’s coming together to pray for our pope and to pray for all of us,” González-Andrieu told CBS-LA’s morning show, after recounting a meeting with the pope in the fall. She was also interviewed about her trip to Rome on the CBS-LA evening news, and discussed Pope Francis on NBC-4.
Rausch told NBC-4 that during this time of uncertainty, “there’s a concern in Rome to prepare for the next conclave. That means reserving space and bringing people together and communicating with the bishops.” He explained that the cardinals would elect a successor to Francis.
