Jessica Levinson, LMU Loyola Law School professor, spoke with CBS LA about the First Amendment after the recent announcement from federal prosecutors that they would be tracking down and arresting more than two dozen people, many of whom were seen in photos and videos throwing firebombs and rocks and destroying robotaxis during protests against immigration operations in Los Angeles over the summer (starting at 1:37).
“The First Amendment is very protective of protest, particularly political protest, but those protections are not absolute, if your activities change and they cross a line into doing things that are alleged here.”
