LMU’s Alicia Partnoy, professor emerita of modern languages and literatures, is featured with her husband and family in the second documentary of the award-winning series “Belonging in the USA: Stories from our Neighbors.” The film chronicles the journey of Partnoy and Antonio Leiva, who fled the horrors of Argentina’s military dictatorship in the late 1970s and early 1980s. After enduring imprisonment and torture for their dedication to social justice, they sought refuge in the United States, where they built a new life while remaining committed to raising awareness for human rights.
