LMU inaugurated Thomas Poon, Ph.D., as its 17th president on Dec. 9. Archbishop José H. Gomez joined the community at a special Missioning Mass, stating: “We are not here for our own sake. We are here for the sake of others. This is why a truly Catholic education is so important.” Poon emphasized that it is up to the entire community—not just one leader—to cultivate a community of purpose and hope at LMU.
