Biography: Ellen A. Ensher, Ph.D. is a professor of management at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. Consistently evaluated by her students as being in the top 5% of professors at the university for the past 22 years, Dr. Ensher was the recipient of LMU’s teaching award, the President’s 2017 Fritz B. Burns Distinguished Teaching Award.
Dr. Ensher is a leading expert in mentoring and careers with four courses available on LinkedIn Learning, over 50 published academic articles and book chapters, and her own book, “Power Mentoring: How Successful Mentors and Proteges Get the Most Out of Their Relationships” with co-author Susan Murphy. Dr. Ensher has also published in leading journals including Academy of Management Perspectives, Journal of Vocational Behavior, The Leadership Quarterly, and forthcoming articles in the Journal of Counseling Psychology and the Journal of Career Development.
She is also a highly-rated speaker and workshop leader at conferences and for public and private organizations in the United States and throughout the world. Examples of groups that she has consulted for include the City of Los Angeles, Kraft Foods, Legg Mason, LinkedIn, Sisters of the Holy Cross, and the United States Navy.
Ellen has taught business students and executives in South Africa, Italy and Ireland and presented at conferences all over the world. In 2017, Dr. Ensher was awarded a Fulbright Specialist Grant and taught in Finland. Dr. Ensher was an invited thought leader for 2019 Watermark Women’s Conference in Silicon Valley. Dr. Ensher is often quoted in leading media outlets including Bloomberg, Fast Company, Forbes, New York Times, and Wall Street Journal.
