Dear LMU Faculty and Staff,
In the wake of the devastating wildfires affecting Los Angeles, members of our LMU family are facing unexpected hardships. Some have lost their homes and belongings and, with them, their sense of safety and stability. As a community rooted in the Jesuit tradition of cura personalis and the Marymount tradition of being a compassionate dear neighbor, we support our colleagues during this challenging time.
To assist faculty and staff who have been directly impacted by the fires, we have established a new LMU Faculty and Staff Emergency Response Fund. This fund will provide immediate financial relief through $1,000 grants to those experiencing loss and displacement, ensuring they receive the support they need to recover.
We invite you to join us in extending a helping hand to your fellow colleagues impacted by the wildfires. Your generosity will directly benefit them as they navigate this challenging period ahead. Please consider making a gift at lmu.edu/wildfiresupport where we have added a new LMU Faculty and Staff Emergency Response Fund giving option. Every contribution, no matter the size, reflects the strength of our community and our shared commitment to one another.
If you have been personally affected by the fires, we encourage you to contact Human Resources for support. For more information on how to apply for assistance, please contact [email protected].
Thank you for embodying the spirit of care, solidarity, and generosity that defines LMU. Together, we will help our colleagues rebuild and move forward with hope.
With gratitude,
Peter Wilch
