As the LMU community returns to the bluff for the spring 2026 semester, there’s a new way to stay informed about what’s happening on our campuses, across Los Angeles, and beyond. Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer John Kiralla recently launched Momentum, a new blog designed to share timely updates and institutional context on the work shaping the university internally and externally.
Published weekly, Momentum will spotlight progress and priorities, especially across the COO’s areas of focus—administration, operations, reputation, and outreach—offering visibility into how decisions are made and how initiatives move forward.
“I’ve wanted to create a simple channel where I can share what we’re working on — on our campuses and across Los Angeles — in a way that I hope you find clear and helpful,” wrote Kiralla. He added that the blog will provide “straightforward updates on topics people care about: what’s changing, what’s staying the same, and what it means for you as an LMU Lion.”
Read the latest at momentum.lmu.edu, and check back regularly for new posts. Updates will also be shared in LMU This Week, beginning with one of the most-discussed topics on the LMU Westchester Campus: a major update to the status of the University Hall escalators.
Have an idea, question, or recurring rumor you’d like addressed in a future blog post? Submit your query or story idea via the COO Feedback Form.
