Commencement is one of Loyola Marymount University’s most cherished traditions, marking a defining milestone in the lives of our graduates and their families. For generations, this celebration has taken place in LMU’s iconic Sunken Garden on the Westchester campus, and that tradition will continue in 2026.
The 114th Commencement Exercises will be held on May 16–17, 2026, honoring the academic achievements, leadership, and perseverance of the Class of 2026.
- Undergraduate Commencement will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 10 a.m.
- Graduate Commencement will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2026, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
- LMU Loyola Law School Commencement will follow on Sunday, May 17, at 2:30 p.m.
In addition to the formal commencement ceremonies, the full commencement season will include a series of meaningful events for graduates and their families in the days leading up to the weekend. These celebrations will include Commencement Mass, the Academic, Service, and Leadership Awards Convocation, and a range of affinity celebrations honoring the diverse communities that make up LMU.
Commencement is a ticketed event, and all guests will be required to present a ticket and pass through security screening. In alignment with Los Angeles–mandated safety and security requirements, the undergraduate ceremony on Saturday, May 16, will be limited to seven (7) tickets per graduate. The graduate and law school ceremonies on Sunday, May 17, will be limited to ten (10) tickets per graduate.
Additional details will be shared in the coming months. Keynote speakers for each ceremony will be announced the week prior to Commencement.
