Elevate Together

Elevate Together is an interactive team-building experience using the Tower of Power activity to help LMU staff explore how strong teams achieve success. Through dialogue and problem-solving, participants will gain practical tools for clear communication, shared values, and role clarity.
*Advocate Workshop
When: Wednesday, Sept. 17 | Noon – 2 p.m.
Facilitators: UndocuScholars LLC
Advocate trainings help participants understand the challenges, rights, and resources of immigrants while gaining tools to support and advocate for them. Join Student Support Services, the Office of International Programs and Partnerships, and others in building a brave, supportive environment.
Mindfulness Matters: Being Present in the Workplace
When: Tuesday, Sept. 23 | 2 – 3 p.m.

In today’s fast-paced campus environment, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. Mindfulness Matters is an interactive workshop for LMU staff to explore mindfulness, practice simple techniques, and gain tools to stay focused and balanced.

LGBT Student Services, the Center for Faculty Development, and other campus partners have collaborated to offer an LMU-tailored Safe Zones workshop series. Open to students, staff, and faculty, this semester-long workshop series is an opportunity to learn about LGBTQ+ identities, sexuality, and gender expression, and examine the prejudice, assumptions, and privilege around these identities.
*Ignatian Discernment: The Art of Noticing
When: Thursday, Sept. 25, | 11 a.m. – noon
Facilitator: Randall Roche, S.J., University Chaplain
Decision-making isn’t just about gathering information: it’s also about noticing the inner thoughts and feelings that shape our choices. In this session, Father Roche will guide faculty and staff through shared reflections on becoming more aware of these inner movements.
Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
When: Tuesday, Sept. 30 | 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Every workplace challenge is an opportunity to think differently and discover better solutions. Critical Thinking and Problem Solving is an interactive workshop designed to help LMU staff strengthen their ability to approach problems with clarity, creativity, and confidence.

Offered by the Office for Mission and Ministry, this workshop explores how to build a culture of dialogue at LMU using the Ignatian Conversation model. Participants will reflect, practice, and gain tools to foster curiosity, engage across differences, and create more inclusive spaces.
*Ignatian Discernment: The Art of Deciding
Date/Time: Tuesday, Oct. 7 | 11 a.m. – noon
Facilitator: Randall Roche, S.J., University Chaplain
We make decisions every day, and as responsibilities grow, so does the need to strengthen this skill. In this session, Father Roche will examine St. Ignatius of Loyola’s guidelines for discernment, helping participants recognize inner movements that shape choices and make decisions with greater clarity and grounding.
*Conflict Dynamics Profile
When: Thursday, Oct. 16 | Noon – 1:30 p.m.
Facilitators: Julia Wade and jamal epperson
Learn about the Conflict Dynamics Profile (CDP), a unique assessment that measures conflict behaviors — not styles. The CDP helps individuals and teams increase self-awareness, recognize conflict triggers, and develop strategies to manage conflict more effectively.
LMU Service Standards
When: Tuesday, Oct. 21 | 2 – 3 p.m.

This workshop introduces LMU’s Service Standards, helping employees understand how they apply to daily interactions, identify who they serve, and connect service delivery to LMU’s mission and goals.
The LMUnity Challenge
When: Tuesday, Oct. 28 | 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Facilitator: Dustin Reece
The LMUnity Challenge is a hands-on team-building activity using StringBall to highlight the value of communication, trust, and support. Staff will practice collaboration and experience how active listening and mutual respect turn groups into cohesive, high-performing teams.
Effective Communication Skills
When: Tuesday, Nov. 4 | 2 – 3 p.m.
Facilitator: Dustin Reece
Effective Communication Skills is an interactive workshop for LMU staff to strengthen clarity, confidence, and purpose in workplace interactions. Participants will explore strategies to overcome barriers, enhance verbal and non-verbal communication, and leave with practical tools to become stronger communicators across campus.
Teamwork in Motion
When: Tuesday, Nov. 11 | 2 – 3 p.m.
Facilitator: Dustin Reece
Teamwork in Motion is an interactive program for LMU staff using the Pipeline activity to emphasize collaboration, coordination, and trust. Participants will see how clear communication and smooth handovers impact success, while exploring ways to strengthen teamwork across LMU’s diverse departments.

During this lunch conversation, join us in exploring core Ignatian terms that shape who we are and what we do at LMU: cura personalis — care for the whole person – and magis — the concept of striving to do more for Christ by serving others. This gathering invites colleagues to connect and reflect on what inspires us and gives meaning to our work in light of LMU’s mission.
Leading Teams at LMU

This interactive workshop helps LMU staff strengthen leadership skills through hands-on activities, real-world scenarios, and group discussions. Participants will explore strategies to motivate, support, and empower colleagues — whether leading a project, supervising staff, or coordinating cross-campus initiatives.

Building Bridges Together is an interactive team-building workshop for LMU staff that uses the Domino Effect activity to highlight how collaboration, communication, and creative problem-solving turn individual efforts into shared success.
