LMU celebrates Latinx Heritage Month, Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, also known as Hispanic Heritage Month, recognizing the vibrant cultures, rich histories, enduring traditions, and significant contributions of people whose ancestry traces to Mexico, the Caribbean, Central and South America, and Spain.
“This year’s Latinx Heritage Month theme, “Raíces y Resistencia (Roots and Resistance): Knowledge, Power, and Wellness in Our Communities,” celebrates the deep histories and enduring resilience of Latinx communities while honoring the knowledge, collective power, and wellness practices that sustain communities everywhere,” shared Claudio Rodriguez, director, Chicano/a Latino/a Student Services. “It’s a call for our whole campus to recognize and join in the vital work happening here to educate, advocate, and care for one another, so that Latinx students, staff, faculty, and every member of our community can thrive together.”
