Dear LMU Community:
I am saddened to share that Debbie Picone, retired manager of Academic Records in the Registrar’s Office, passed away on May 11, 2026. She was 67 years old.
Ms. Picone joined LMU in 1997, and over her 26 years of service, her professional and personal influence was felt across the university’s academic units. Her loyalty and hard work were instrumental in the success of the Registrar’s Office and Enrollment Management.
Upon her retirement in 2023, Ms. Picone was lauded for her integrity, kindness, and humility. Colleagues recognized her dedication to her work, her generous support of her peers, and the caring, compassionate environment she helped create.
Condolence messages may be sent to Tanya Salvini in the Registrar’s Office. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ms. Picone’s memory to Best Friends Animal Society or the American Cancer Society.
