Hello Lions,
My name is Johnny Armijo, and I am truly honored to serve as LMU’s University Ombudsperson. I’m here to offer a confidential, supportive space where faculty and staff can speak freely, explore concerns, and find new ways to move forward — together.
Today, I bring to this role a deep passion for kindness, empathy, fairness, and strength in the face of challenge. I see conflict not as something to avoid, but as a powerful opportunity for growth, communication, and healing.
My path here has been shaped by roles that have taught me how to listen deeply and lead with compassion — including my work as a former classroom teacher, Equal Opportunity director in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, and ombudsperson at the U.S. Department of State, the University of Northern Colorado, and Cal State Monterey Bay.
Now at LMU, my focus is on creating a culture of trust and collaboration, where you feel empowered to bring forward whatever you’re facing — big or small — and know that you’ll be met with care and clarity.
