On April 28, undergraduate and graduate students in civil and environmental engineering, electrical and computer engineering, mechanical engineering, and healthcare systems engineering presented their capstone projects projects to industry representatives, alumni and the Loyola Marymount University community. The 33 capstone projects represented the culmination of the knowledge and skills that students gained over the course of their studies. Projects varied from a bike helmet capable of alerting riders of oncoming dangers, a design for a new basketball arena at LMU, a four-wheel-drive off-road vehicle built from the ground up, to projects aiding the unhoused in downtown Los Angeles and sea level rise projections for the Los Angeles area. Students shared their projects, answered questions and celebrated their capstone and research projects with showcase attendees.
