As the spring 2025 semester begins, we are grateful to welcome back our students while also recognizing the significant impact the wildfires have had on many in our community. In the spirit of cura personalis, we are focused on recovery efforts and fostering opportunities for Lions to come together in support of those affected.
We continue to monitor the wildfire crisis, in coordination with the Los Angeles Fire Department and L.A. County officials. Please see FAQs for more.
- Current Air Quality: Monday, Jan. 13 air quality levels at Westchester, Playa Vista and LMU Loyola Law School campuses have returned to “Good.” While we will continue to monitor air quality and act responsively, current levels continue to improve significantly.
- Prayer Vigil: Campus Ministry invites all members of the LMU community to attend a “Healing Prayer for the City of Angels” vigil on Wednesday at 5 p.m. on the steps of Sacred Heart Chapel. No RSVP required.
- Wildfire Relief Efforts: At this time, donations and fundraising are the most effective assistance the LMU community can provide. The Pam Rector Center for Service and Action shares a list of various ways Lions can help with relief efforts. Additionally, relief specific to the LMU community can be found here.
- Students: If you have been directly impacted by the wildfires, please contact us at communityofcare@lmu.edu (studentaffair@lls.edu for LMU Loyola Law School students).
- Staff and Faculty: Please contact us at hr@lmu.edu or consult your supervisor if you are experiencing extenuating circumstances or require special accommodations.
