Elena Muslar ’11 has joined LMU as the Assistant Director for Entertainment and Fine Arts Professions in Career and Professional Development. In this role, she will support the career development needs of all CFA students, and in partnership with Matt Mills, SFTV students.
Elena is a proud LMU alumna, receiving her B.A. in Theatre Arts with minors in Dance and African-American Studies in 2011. During her formative years on campus, she was a member of Belles Service Organization and loved being an LMU Admissions Tour Guide. After graduating LMU, Elena obtained her M.F.A in Theatre Management specializing in Producing from CalArts. She is excited to be back on campus as a resource for fellow Lions interested in creative careers.
“We are so excited to be working with Elena to provide comprehensive career advice to our students,” said CFA Assistant Dean Elaine Walker, Ed. D. “Elena offers to CFA students contemporary career guidance that informs and inspires. Our students can benefit from Elena’s rich insights gleaned from her work experience in the arts and communication industries.”
Previously, Elena held positions in various arts organizations, including Center Theatre Group, The Music Center of Los Angeles County, the Los Angeles County Arts Commission, and the Skirball Cultural Center, where she worked extensively in arts administration, creative producing, and cultural engagement. Dedicated to helping develop the next generation of emerging arts leaders, Elena has a vested interest in the relationships between arts enterprise, social justice, and creative entrepreneurship.
In addition to serving as a career coach for CFA and SFTV students, Elena will produce each college’s signature career events (CFA Career Connections and SFTV Pathways in Entertainment), and also liaise with LMU campus partners that include ASLMU, GSLMU, Student Entertainment and Media, and others.
Students who wish to meet with Elena can schedule appointments by logging into LionJobs.
