To Our Lion Family,
Whether you are on, near, or far from the bluff, the Associated Students of Loyola Marymount University (ASLMU) would like to welcome you to the 2020-2021 academic year!
As our world experiences a global pandemic, economic unrest, and a long overdue confrontation with the legacy of white supremacy, it is difficult to articulate what our community has collectively experienced over the last few months. Despite the ever-changing nature of the world, what remains true is that our community is resilient and determined to move forward together.
This school year, we commit to being a student government whose highest priority is to advocate for the resources and services that will best support our community at this time. We are committed to listening, learning, and understanding so that we can best serve every student. We will always fight for our Lion family’s interests and center the needs of our most vulnerable peers.
This year will be one of perseverance, and we will work together – as a community and family – to make the absolute most of these two semesters. We are excited to celebrate the accomplishments, milestones, and moments of joy that await us.
ASLMU belongs to each and every student, so make it yours. Our door is always open and weare excited to get to work, because we are all in this together.
Warmly,
Jack Palen
