Gloria Campaner, a celebrated Italian classical concert pianist and laureate of the Paderewski International Piano Competition in Los Angeles, will perform a free recital on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019, at Loyola Marymount University.
The event at 8 p.m. in LMU’s Murphy Recital Hall is free and open to the community. Campaner will perform Robert Schumann’s “Kinderszenen” and Frédéric Chopin’s “24 Preludes,” and a CD signing will follow.
The multi-talented Campaner, a native of Venice, Italy, is also a jazz musician, lecturer and human rights activist. Her musical repertoire spans from Bach to contemporary composers, and her performances place her side by side with jazz and folk musicians, as well as ballet and modern dancers, choreographers, visual artists, actors, philosophers, comedians, DJs and electronic music producers.
The recital is presented by the Music Department in LMU’s College of Communication and Fine Arts. It will take place on LMU’s Westchester campus at 1 LMU Drive, Los Angeles, 90045.
