Loyola Marymount University Department of Theatre Arts recently presented Sarah Delappe’s The Wolves, directed by Dana Resnick.
A finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2017, DeLappe’s play began as a girls indoor soccer team warmed up. Left quad. Right quad. Lunge. From the safety of their suburban stretch circle, the team navigated big questions and waged tiny battles with all the vim and vigor of a pack of adolescent warriors. A portrait of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for nine American girls who just wanted to score some goals.
The ensemble cast of The Wolves starred: Cecille Forsyth #11, Keiva Bradley #25, Rituja Kashid #13, Eliza Black #46, Madeleine Quinn #2, Milica Vrzie #7, Carly Martin #14, Katharine Colick #8, Sharon Law #00, and Bella Hartman as Mom. The show opened on November 1 and ran from November 1st-3rd, and the 6th-9th, and was staged in the Barnelle Theater on Loyola Marymount University’s campus.
The production team included: Director Dana Resnick, Assistant Director Giselle Durand and Leire Aguilera, Stage Manager Shannon O’Kane, Assistant Stage Manager Jillian Cotone, Cassandra Lechner, and Tamarra Sylber, Set Designer Sofia Cassidy, Costume Designer Sylvia Yang, Lighting Designer Andrew Leitch, and Sound Designer Preston Simpson.
