For Southern California wine connoisseurs this Sunday, Feb. 8, will be one of the best days of the year. That’s the day of the 28th annual Loyola Marymount University Wine Classic, which has earned a reputation among California vintners as the best wine-tasting event in the state.
The Wine Classic spotlights 45 of California’s premium wineries, with more than 150 wines available for tasting. This is one of the few wine-tasting events where you will find winemakers and sellers onsite to share their knowledge, experience and appreciation of wine. Participating wineries include August Briggs, Foxen, Patz Hall, Rombauer and ZD.
An exclusive selection of rare vintages and products will be offered in a silent auction during the event.
The annual event, under the direction of alumnus Arthur Carroll, Jr. ’61, benefits the Alfred J. Kilp, S.J., ’30, and the Raymunde McKay, RSHM, student scholarships, which are awarded to children and grandchildren of alumni.
