
SOE’s Educational Leadership in Social Justice program is pleased to present profiles of our hard-working and talented doctoral students, who are finding ways to make a difference in the world as they earn their degrees with us.
Third-year Ed.D. student Csilla V. Samay (Cohort 15) is the Assistant Dean for International Students and Initiatives at Loyola Marymount University, where she provides leadership to the Office for International Students & Scholars (OISS). She holds a Master of Arts degree in Intercultural Relations from Lesley University and has worked in international education and training for more than two decades, both in the U.S. and abroad. She previously served as the director of international outreach and associate director of admissions at LMU.
Csilla is active in the Association for International Education Administrators (AIEA), NAFSA: Association of International Educators, and serves on the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU) International Education Executive Board. Her research interests include international student and scholar issues, including orientation to and experiences in the U.S.; the impact of Jesuit education and interfaith experiences on students from non-Christian backgrounds; and the influence of home culture on student success.
