The LMU School of Education is pleased to announce three new senior leaders that will help to advance the school’s mission and foster excellence and innovation.
Manny Aceves, M.A. | Assistant Dean for Strategic Partnerships
As we continue to grow our capacity to work with external partners, Manny Aceves will oversee our strategic partnerships, in addition to SOE Communications, the LMU Family of Schools, Center for Equity for English Learners and Center for Math and Science Teaching. Manny holds a B.A. in Political Science and M.A. in School Administration from LMU. He is in the final stages of completing his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership for Social Justice also from LMU.
Annette Pijuan, Ed.D. | Assistant Dean for Academic Services
In order to continue our strong support in academic services, Annette Pijuan will oversee SOE assessment and accreditation, course scheduling and clinical teacher education. Over the past six years, Annette served as assistant director for the elementary and secondary education programs. Annette holds both a B.A. in Business Administration and M.A. in Secondary Education from LMU. She recently received her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California.
Eric Young, M.B.A. | Assistant Dean for Enrollment and Business Services
Eric Young will oversee recruitment and admissions, in addition to student advising and credentialing. This will allow one team to focus on the cycle for student support. Over the past five years, Eric served as director of recruitment and outreach. During this time, the SOE saw an increase in both inquiries and applications, and reached enrollment targets every semester. Eric holds his B.A. in Economics from LMU and his M.B.A. from Cal Poly Pomona.
With these key organizational changes, the School of Education is poised to lead the way in Los Angeles and beyond as we continue to challenge the unacceptable status quo and prepare the next generation of leaders for our schools, districts and communities.
